Refer friends and earn free Pro
How the invite link works, who gets a free month and when, and why a reward is sometimes withheld.
Every account has an invite link. Share it while you are on a paid plan, and the friend who joins on it starts on Pro for a month. When they first pay for a plan of their own, a free month lands on your account too. On the free plan the link still brings friends in and still records the invite, but neither free month is granted.
Find your link
- 1 Open the main menu and tap Refer friends, or find the Referrals panel in Settings under Account.
- 2 Your link carries a short code that looks like TRDR-7F3A9K.
- 3 Copy it and send it. The same panel lists the friends who have joined and the free Pro you have earned so far.
Who gets what

Both rewards are Pro, never Discovery, and they need no card. Both depend on you holding a paid plan. Months stack: each one is added to the free time you already have rather than replacing it.
Free Pro time shows in Settings under Account as a plan held via referral, with the date it expires. When it runs out the account returns to free, with everything you made still there.
The one condition
You have to be on a paid plan yourself for the rewards to pay out. That single rule is what keeps the program from being farmed, and it is why free months cannot mint more free months down a chain of new accounts.
A signup on your link is still recorded if you were on free at the time, so it shows in your invite list, and your own month becomes payable if you subscribe before your friend converts. Only the friend free month is missed in that case.
Why a reward can be withheld
- You were not paying when the friend joined, or when they converted.
- It is your own address again. Dots and plus tags are collapsed before comparing, so a variation on your own mailbox is read as you, not as a friend.
- A throwaway address. Disposable mailbox domains are refused outright.
- The same card. If your friend pays with a card that matches one of yours, the payout is suppressed.
- You hit the cap. Three rewarded referrals per subscription year, and the counter resets when an annual plan renews.
Common questions
- Does my friend need to pay to get their free month?
- No. Their month is granted as they finish signing up, with no card and no checkout, provided you are on a paid plan when they join. Their own payment only matters for your reward, which lands when they first subscribe.
- Why did my friend not get their free month?
- Almost always because the referrer was not on a paid plan at the time. The signup is still attributed to you, so your own reward stays payable if you subscribe before they convert.
- How many free months can I earn?
- Up to three rewarded referrals per subscription year. The counter resets when an annual subscription renews.
- Can I refer myself with a second email address?
- No. A second mailbox of your own is recognised as you, disposable addresses are refused, and paying with the same card as the referrer suppresses the reward.
- Do free months apply to Discovery?
- They grant Pro, whichever plan you are on. Free Pro time and a paid subscription do not stack either: the free clock keeps running while you pay, so spend the free months before subscribing.
